Indications/Uses

PUD, GERD, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome & in combination w/ antibiotics for H. pylori eradication.

Dosage/Direction for Use

PUD, GERD 20-40 mg once daily. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome Initially 40 mg bid, then adjusted as needed. Eradication of H. pylori in combination w/ antibiotics 40 mg once daily.

Overdosage

Administration

Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take at least 1 hr before meals. Do not crush.

Special Precautions

Adverse Reactions

Headache, diarrhea, & skin rashes. Pruritus, dizziness, fatigue, constipation, nausea & vomiting, flatulence, abdominal pain, arthralgia & myalgia, urticaria & dry mouth.

Drug Interactions

May prolong elimination of diazepam, phenytoin, & warfarin. Reduced absorption of drugs whose absorption is dependent on gastric pH eg, dasatinib, ketoconazole, & itraconazole. Co-administration w/ voriconazole increases plasma conc of both drugs. Reduced exposure to atazanavir & other HIV-PIs.
