Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult Plasma K level >2.5 mEq/L 10 mEq/hr-200 mEq/day, <2 mEq/L 40 mEq/hr-400 mEq/day. Childn 3 mEq/kg: vol of soln proportional to body size. Acute hypokalemia Up to 100 mEq by slow IV infusion w/ ECG control at rate not >20 mEq/hr of a soln not >40 mEq/L.

Contraindications

Untreated Addison's disease, heat cramps, acute dehydration, adynamia episodica hereditaria & hyperkalemia.
