Description
Brown colored oval shaped, biconvex film coated tablets with central break line on one side and plain on other side.
Action
Vasoprotective.
Indications/Uses
Diosmin and hesperidin are venotonic and vasoprotective flavonoid compounds. The combination reduces venous distensibility and stasis, and normalises capillary permeability and reinforces capillary resistance in the microcirculation.
Diosmin is synthesised from hesperidin. It acts as a phlebotonic and vascular protector for venous leg ulcers and haemorrhoids.
Treatment of symptoms related to venolymphatic insufficiency (heavy legs, pain, early morning restless legs).
Treatment of functional symptoms related to acute hemorrhoidal attack.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Usual dosage: 2 tablets daily in two divided doses, midday and evening at meal times.
Acute hemorrhoidal attack: 6 tablets per day for the first 4 days, then 4 tablets per day for 3 days.
What to do if patient misses a dose: Take a missed dose as soon as the patient thinks about it. If it is close to the time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to the normal time.
Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra dose.
Overdosage
No cases of overdose have been reported.
What to do when the patient has taken more than the recommended dosage: Never take more than the prescribed dose. Contact the doctor if the patient suspects an overdose of Diosmin and hesperidin tablet for further guidance.
Contraindications
Avoid taking Diosmin and hesperidin tablet if the patient is allergic to it. Serious allergic reactions to this medicine are rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if the patient experiences symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.
If the patient has any bleeding disorders, avoid this supplement unless instructed otherwise by a healthcare provider.
Children and teenagers should avoid taking diosmin, as there is no available safety research in these age groups.
Do not take 500 mg of Diosmin & Hesperidin Tablet for more than three months without medical supervision.
Special Precautions
Diosmin and hesperidin tablet is safe to use for a period of three months for most patients.
Consult a doctor, if the symptoms of hemorrhoids will not improve after 15 days of use of this medicine.
If the patient has problems with their liver or kidneys.
Diosmin and hesperidin tablets are for short term treatment.

Avoid long time standing and try to reduce weight and take other measures advised by the doctor like avoiding exposure to sun and heat.
Avoid tight clothes and rinse the legs with cold water to improve blood circulation.
Drink more water and take high fibre diet to avoid constipation like fruits, green vegetables and whole grains.
Avoid fatty food, coffee and spicy food. Do not carry too heavy objects and do regular exercise.
Do not use or share this medicine to patients with similar complaints before consulting a doctor.
Diosmin & Hesperidin tablet is used for short term treatment.
Adverse Reactions
Nervous system disorders: Rare effects: Dizziness, headache, malaise.
Gastrointestinal disorders: Common effects: Diarrhea, dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting.
Uncommon effects: Colitis.
Not known: Abdominal pain.
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: Rare effects: Rash, pruritus, urticaria.
Not known: Isolated face, lip, eyelid oedema. Exceptionally Quincke's oedema.
Drug Interactions
No interaction studies have been performed. However and taking into consideration the huge post marketing experience on the product, no drug interaction has been reported since the marketing of the product.
Storage
Store Diosmin & Hesperidin tablets at room temperature in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
