Difflam H-extra Lozenge is a purple colored, round flat, bevelled shape lozenge that contains hexylresorcinol.
Hexylresorcinol (Difflam H-extra) lozenge (Purple Grape Flavor) contains 2.4 mg hexylresorcinol as its active substance and levomenthol, liquid glucose, sucrose, sucralose, citric acid, purple grape flavor as part of its other ingredients.
Antiseptic.
Hexylresorcinol is a local anaesthetic for topical use on the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat. This product base has a demulcent action.
As an antiseptic and local anaesthetic for the relief of sore throat and its associated pain.
How much hexylresorcinol (Difflam H-extra) lozenge to use: Adults and Children (over 6 years of age): One lozenge to be dissolved slowly in the mouth every 3 hours up to a maximum of 12 lozenges in 24 hours.
Children (below 6 years of age): This medicine is not recommended.
Hexylresorcinol overdosage may cause minor gastrointestinal irritation.
Treatment would be withdrawal of the product and symptomatic measures as appropriate.
Do not use hexylresorcinol (Difflam H-extra) if the patient has an allergy or hypersensitivity to its ingredients.
Do not exceed the stated dose.
Not to be given to children under 6 years of age.
Patients with hereditary fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrose-isomaltase deficiency should not take this medicine.
If symptoms persist, have not improved, or have worsened, consult the doctor or health care professional immediately.
There are still unknown possible adverse effects for this medicine.
