Indications/Uses
Acute & recovery phase of cerebral infarction (eg, ischemia due to stroke). Cognitive dysfunction due to degenerative (ie, Alzheimer's disease) & cerebrovascular disease. Cerebral insufficiency (eg, dizziness, memory loss, poor concentration, disorientation) due to head trauma or brain injury. Parkinson's disease.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Individualized dosage. 500-1,000 mg daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to citicoline or piracetam. Cerebral haemorrhage. Severe renal impairment (renal CrCl <20 mL/min) &/or hepatic impairment.
Special Precautions
Large doses could aggravate increase in cerebral blood flow in episodes of persistent intracranial hemorrhage. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
GI disorders (ie, stomach pain, diarrhea). Vascular side effects (ie, hypotension, tachycardia, bradycardia).
Drug Interactions
May enhance effects of levodopa. Do not administer in conjunction w/ medication containing meclofenoxate (clophenoxate).
