Special Precautions

APPETREX is generally well tolerated by children and adults. Mild drowsiness may occur at the beginning of treatment which gradually disappears after 2-3 days of continuous therapy. Occasional gastrointestinal discomfort such as nausea, diarrhea may occur with intake of iron. Concomitant administration of tetracycline and some antacids may decrease the amount of iron absorbed, and similarly iron may retard the absorption of tetracycline; these products should not be taken within two hours of each other. Food reduces the absorption of iron but will lessen gastric irritation.
