Infections due to β-lactamase-producing H. influenzae including resp tract, bones, joints & soft tissues; polymicrobial infections w/ mixed aerobic & anaerobic eg, diabetic foot, gynecologic & intra-abdominal infections; UTI due to susceptible organisms.
1.5-12 g/day in divided doses. Mild infections 1.5-3 g. Moderate infections Up to 6 g. Severe infections Up to 12 g. Surgical infection prophylaxis 1.5-3 g at anesth induction, may be repeated 6-8 hrly. Neonate 150 mg/kg/day.
J01CR01 - ampicillin and beta-lactamase inhibitor ; Belongs to the class of penicillin combinations, including beta-lactamase inhibitors. Used in the systemic treatment of infections.
