Moxifloxacin HCl
Indications/Uses
Bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible organisms in patients ≥1 yr. Pre- & post-op sterilization.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Bacterial conjunctivitis Instill 1 drop in affected eye tds for 7 days. Pre- & post-op sterilization Instill 1 drop in affected eye 5 times daily pre-op & tds post-op.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to moxifloxacin or other quinolones.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if allergic reactions & superinfection occur; at 1st sign of rash & tendon inflammation. Not to be inj subconjunctivally or introduced directly to anterior eye chamber. Overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms including fungi. Do not wear contact lens if w/ signs & symptoms of bacterial conjunctivitis. Avoid contact w/ applicator tip. Concurrent use w/ corticosteroids. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Pregnancy & lactation. Ped <1 yr. Elderly.
