Trimetazidine diHCl
Indications/Uses
Add-on therapy for symptomatic treatment of adults w/ stable angina pectoris who are inadequately controlled by or intolerant to 1st-line anti-anginal therapies.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 cap once daily. Moderate renal impairment (CrCl 30-60 mL/min), elderly Reduce dose by ½.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take during meals. Swallow whole, do not open.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Parkinson's disease, parkinsonian symptoms, tremors, restless leg syndrome & other related movement disorders. Severe renal impairment (CrCl <30 mL/min).
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if signs & symptoms of severe cutaneous adverse reactions; movement disorders eg, parkinsonian symptoms, restless leg syndrome, tremors, gait instability occur. Not a curative treatment for angina attacks or as initial treatment for unstable angina, MI, pre-hospital phase or during 1st days of hospitalisation. Falls related to gait instability or hypotension. Positive results in anti-doping tests. Not to be taken by patients w/ fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrose-isomaltase insufficiency. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Not recommended in severe liver failure. Moderate renal impairment. Avoid use during pregnancy. Not to be used during lactation. Childn <18 yr. Elderly >75 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Dizziness, headache; abdominal pain, diarrhoea, dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting; rash, pruritus, urticaria; asthenia.
