Known hypersensitivity to the amlodipine, valsartan or to any of the excipients; Pregnancy; Severe hepatic impairment; biliary cirrhosis and cholestasis; Concomitant use of angiotensin receptor antagonists (ARBs) - including valsartan - or of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) with aliskiren in patients with Type 2 diabetes.
