Dietary and other sources of vitamin D should be evaluated to avoid excessive intake.
Should be given with care to patients with impaired renal function.
The following laboratory test and/or values may be modified during the use of the drug: serum calcium and serum gastrin concentration may decrease.
Oxalic acid-containing foods, such as rhubard and spinach, and phytic acid containing foods, such as bran and whole grain cereals, should be avoided since concurrent use may inhibit calcium absorption.
Pregnancy and lactation: It should be used with caution during pregnancy and lactation; as excessive dose may give rise to hypercalcemia in the offspring.
