Indications and Dosage
Topical/Cutaneous
Tinea corporis, Tinea cruris, Tinea pedis
Adult: As 1% cream or lotion: Apply to the affected and immediately surrounding area(s) once daily to bid. Treatment duration: 2 weeks (tinea corporis and tinea cruris); 1 month (tinea pedis).

Tinea versicolor
Adult: As 1% cream: Apply to the affected and immediately surrounding area(s) once daily for 2 weeks.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Pregnancy and lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Significant: Sensitivity or irritation.
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: Pruritus, localised burning, allergic contact dermatitis, folliculitis, rash, papule, nodules, erythema, skin fissure, dyshidrotic eczema, maceration, stinging, scaling, or tingling of the skin.
Patient Counseling Information
Avoid contact with eyes, nose, mouth, vagina, or other mucous membranes.
Monitoring Parameters
Monitor for signs of increased skin irritation or sensitivity.
Action
Description:
Mechanism of Action: Oxiconazole is an imidazole antifungal that inhibits the biosynthesis of ergosterol, a critical component of fungal cellular membrane integrity.
Pharmacokinetics:
Absorption: Low systemic absorption.
Distribution: Enters breast milk.
Excretion: Via urine (<0.3%).
