The active ingredient of this product, Darbepoetin Alfa (Genetical Recombination), is produced in Chinese hamster ovary cells.
Nonproprietary name: Darbepoetin Alfa (Genetical Recombination).
Composition: NESP is a glycoprotein (molecular weight: ca. 36,000) consisting of 165 amino acid residues (C₈₀₀H₁₃₀₀N₂₂₈O₂₄₄S₅, molecular weight: 18,176.59). It is produced in Chinese hamster ovary cells transfected with cDNA of human hepatic cell-derived erythropoietin, which was transformed to change 5 amino acid residues.
