Clobetasol propionate
Indications/Uses
Short-term relief of inflammatory & pruritic manifestations of moderate to severe corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply to affected areas bd. Duration: Not to exceed 14 days.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to clobetasol propionate or other corticosteroids.
Special Precautions
HPA axis suppression. Evaluate ophth function in patients w/ blurred vision or other visual disturbances. Not to be used w/ occlusive dressings. Not to be used in large amounts or prolonged periods during pregnancy. Childn <12 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Itching, burning, stinging, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform eruption, hypopigmentation, perioral & allergic contact dermatitis, skin maceration & atrophy, secondary infection, striae, miliaria.
Drug Interactions
Increased systemic exposure w/ CYP3A4 inhibitors eg, ritonavir, itraconazole.
