Indications and Dosage
Topical/Cutaneous
Skin fungal infections
Adult: For infections on or near the hands, in the interdigital spaces of feet, and inguinal or genital regions: As 1% cream: Apply onto the affected area(s) once daily for 2-3 weeks; may be applied up to 4 weeks for refractory cases, especially for infections in interdigital spaces. Continue therapy for at least another 2 weeks after clinical healing to prevent recurrence.

Vaginal mycoses
Adult: As vaginal supp: Insert 1 supp (600 mg) as a single dose at bedtime.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Pregnancy and lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Significant: Hypersensitivity reactions.
Gastrointestinal disorders: Nausea (vaginal).
General disorders and administration site conditions: Application site irritation, burning sensation, pruritus, or dryness.
Nervous system disorders: Headache, dizziness (vaginal).
Reproductive system and breast disorders: Vaginal discharge (vaginal).
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: Contact dermatitis, eczema, dyshidrosis.
Patient Counseling Information
Avoid contact of the topical cream with the eyes. Vaginal supp and topical application of cream to the genital region may cause damage to latex contraceptives (e.g. condoms, diaphragms), reducing the effectiveness of these products. Avoid administration of vaginal supp during menstruation.
Action
Description:
Mechanism of Action: Isoconazole, an imidazole derivative antifungal agent, is effective against dermatophytes, yeasts, yeast-like fungi, moulds and certain Gram-positive bacteria. It blocks the 14α-demethylation of lanosterol, thereby inhibiting ergosterol synthesis in fungi.
Pharmacokinetics:
Absorption: Time to peak skin concentration: 1 hour (cream).
