Bexiprost

Latanoprost

Reduction of elevated IOP in patients w/ open-angle glaucoma, chronic angle-closure glaucoma & ocular HTN; in paed patients w/ elevated IOP & paed glaucoma.

Instill 1 drop in affected eyes once daily in the evening.

Hypersensitivity to latanoprost, benzalkonium Cl.

Avoid use in active herpes simplex keratitis & patients w/ history or recurrent herpetic keratitis associated w/ prostaglandin analogues. Increased pigmentation; eyelash & vellus hair changes; permanent heterochromia in patients receiving unilateral treatment. Chronic angle-closure glaucoma or open-angle glaucoma of pseudophakic patients & pigmentary glaucoma; inflammatory & neovascular glaucoma or inflammatory ocular conditions; acute attacks of closed-angle glaucoma; asthma. Aphakic & pseudophakic patients w/ torn posterior lens cap or anterior chamber lenses or known risk factors for cystoid macular oedema; known predisposing risk factors for iritis or uveitis; periorbital skin discolouration. Patients during peri-op period of cataract surgery. May cause eye irritation due to benzalkonium Cl. Administer 5 min apart if >1 topical ophth is used. Remove contact lens prior to & reinsert 15 min after instillation. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Not to be used during pregnancy & lactation. Paed <1 yr & preterm infants <36 wk gestation.

Iris hyperpigmentation, mild to moderate conjunctival hyperaemia, eye irritation, eyelash & eyelid vellus hair changes. Punctate keratitis mostly w/o symptoms, blepharitis, eye pain, photophobia, conjunctivitis.

Paradoxical elevations in IOP w/ concomitant use of ≥2 prostaglandins, prostaglandin analogues or derivatives.

Antiglaucoma Preparations

S01EE01 - latanoprost ; Belongs to the class of prostaglandin analogues. Used in the treatment of glaucoma.
