Enhanced blood glucose-lowering effects by oral antidiabetics, ACE inhibitors, disopyramide, fibrates, fluoxetine, MAOIs, pentoxifylline, propoxyphene, salicylates, sulfonamides. Reduced blood glucose-lowering effects by corticosteroids, danazol, diazoxide, diuretics, glucagon, INH, oestrogens & progestogens, phenothiazine derivatives, somatropin, sympathomimetics, thyroid hormones, atypical antipsychotics, PIs. Potentiated or weakened blood glucose-lowering effects by β-blockers, clonidine, lithium salts or alcohol. Hypoglycaemia followed by hyperglycaemia w/ pentamidine. Reduced or absent signs of adrenergic counterregulation by sympatholytics eg, β-blockers, clonidine, guanethidine, reserpine.
