A white, water-miscible cream.
Composition: Urea 10% w/w; Chlorocresol 0.1% w/w as preservative.
Pharmacology: Mechanism of Action: Urea is claimed to have anaesthetic, bactericidal, and keratolytic properties. These properties is probably due to its hydration effects.
It is used in ichthyosis and hyperkeratotic skin disorders ie. dry, scaling and itchy skin conditions, such as: contact irritant dermatitis (housewife dermatitis) which is caused by detergent, shampoo, highly alkaline soap or chemicals; acute and chronic allergic eczemas; infantile eczema; 'winter itch' and 'winter chapping'.
Directions for Use: Apply to the affected area as required.
Overdosage from external application is unlikely as urea is not easily absorbed from the skin. However, accidental ingestion of Axcel Urea Cream may cause irritation to the gastric mucosa. Nausea and vomiting may occur. In such cases, symptomatic treatment is to be given immediately.
No known contraindications when used externally.
Avoid application to inflamed skin or exudative lesions.

Axcel Urea Cream is usually well tolerated when used externally. Occasionally, it may cause stinging and burning sensation especially to patients with sensitive skin.
Keep container well closed. Store below 30°C. Protect from light.
