Description
Brown, oval shape, film coated tablet, with "

" marking on one side and plain on the other side.
Each film-coated tablet contains Micronized Purified Flavonoid Fraction 500 mg.
Diosmin 90% (45 0mg), Hesperidin 10% (50 mg).
Action
Pharmacology: Pharmacodynamics: Micronized purified flavonoid fraction is a venotonic and vascular protector. It exerts an action on the vascular return system by reducing the venous distensibility and stasis (at the venous level) and normalises capillary permeability and increases capillary resistance (at the microcirculatory level).
Pharmacokinetics: Diosmin is synthesized from Hesperidin. Diosmin is highly metabolized and the elimination half-life is 11 hours. The excretion of Diosmin is mainly faecal, and about 14% of the dose administered is excreted in the urine.
Indications/Uses
Aveflon is used for the treatment of: Symptoms related to venolymphatic insufficiency, such as heavy legs, pain, early morning restless leg.
Functional symptoms related to acute hemorrhoidal attack.
Dosage/Direction for Use
For oral use only.
Usual Dosage: 2 tablets daily: 1 tablet at mid-day and 1 tablet in the evening at meal times.
Acute Hemorrhoidal Attack: First 4 days - 6 tablets daily.
Subsequent 3 days - 4 tablets daily.
Overdosage
No specific overdosage cases have been reported with the use of micronized purified flavonoid fraction. Overdose may lead to undesirable effects.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to micronized purified flavonoid fraction.
Special Precautions
Acute Hemorrhoidal Attack: The administration of the product is not substituting the specific treatment of other anal disorders. The treatment must be short-term. If the symptoms do not disappear rapidly, proctological examination should be performed and the treatment should be reviewed.
Use In Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy: Experimental studies available have not shown any teratogenic effect in animals. No harmful effects have been reported to date in humans.
Lactation: In the absence of studies concerning excretion into breast milk, breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment.
Side Effects
May cause minor gastrointestinal effects such as diarrhoea, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea and vomiting. Rare adverse effects such as dizziness, headache, malaise, rash, pruritus and urticaria may also occur. Neurovegetative disorders have been reported with the use of micronized purified flavonoid fraction.
Drug Interactions
No clinically significant interactions is available with the use of micronized purified flavonoid fraction.
