Contents
Papaverine hydrochloride.
Description
Each tablet contains: Papaverine hydrochloride 40 mg.
Indications/Uses
For additional therapy in conditions which need smooth-muscle relaxation, ie.: Colic of ureteral tract; Colic of biliary tract; Colic of gastrointestinal tract.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adults: 100-300 mg daily in 3-5 divided doses.
Administration: With or without food.
Contraindications
Patients with hepatic insufficiencies.
Patients with hypersensitivity to Papaverine hydrochloride.
Special Precautions
Pregnancy and lactation; Children; Patients with glaucoma.
Discontinue treatment if liver hypersensitivity with gastrointestinal jaundice symptoms, eosinophilia, or liver function test changes.
Adverse Reactions
Gastrointestinal disturbances.
Occasionally: liver hypersensitivity.
Drug Interactions
Reduce the effectivity of levodopa.
Potentiate effect of Calcium blockers (as it has a similar structure with Papaverine hydrochloride.
