Contents
Hyoscine butylbromide 10 mg, paracetamol 500 mg
Indications/Uses
Paroxysmal pain in gastric or small intestine diseases & dysfunction of biliary, urinary tract & female genital organs (eg, dysmenorrhea).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1-2 FC caplet 3 times daily. Max: 6 FC caplet daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Do not chew. Swallow whole w/ plain water.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Mechanical stenosis of the digestive tract, paralytic or obstructive ileus, anal atony, benign prostatic hyperplasia w/ urinary retention, myasthenia gravis, glaucoma, pathological arrhythmias, megacolon. Patients w/ porphyria, liver dysfunction, severe hepatocellular abnormalities.
Special Precautions
Immediately consult a physician in case of severe abdominal pain that worsens or is accompanied by fever, nausea, vomiting, changes in bowel movements, abdominal tenderness, decreased BP, fainting, or blood in the stool. Ensure that no other medications containing paracetamol are being taken. Patients w/ G6PD, liver dysfunction, kidney disorders, Gilbert's syndrome & hepatocellular abnormalities.
Adverse Reactions
Pancytopenia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, anaphylactic reactions, skin rash, dyspnea, abnormal sweating, pruritus, hypersensitivity, tachycardia, bronchospasm, dry mouth, increased transaminase enzymes, urinary retention.
Drug Interactions
Concomitant use w/ hypnotic & antiepileptic agents, chloramphenicol, zidovudine, probenecid, colestyramine.
