Amoxicillin

Indications/Uses

Infections of the resp tract, GUT, skin & soft tissues.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult & childn >20 kg 250-500 mg every 8 hr. Childn <20 kg 20-40 mg/kg every 8 hr. Acute gonorrhea 3 g as a single dose.

Administration

May be taken with or without food: May be taken w/ meals for better absorption & to reduce GI discomfort.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to penicillins.

Special Precautions

Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins. Renal impairment, lymphatic leukemia, superinfection.

Adverse Reactions

Hypersensitivity reactions, GI disturbances.
