Contents
Per 5 mL Promethazine HCl 5 mg, ipecac extr 0.1 mL, K guaiacolsulfonate 44 mg, Na citrate 197 mg, menthol 1 mg
Indications/Uses
Cough, bronchitis, whooping cough.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 5-10 mL 3-4 times daily. Childn 5 mL 1-4 times daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Premature infants or neonates.
Special Precautions
Narrow-angle glaucoma; urinary retention; prostatic hypertrophy. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances, anorexia or increased appetite; drowsiness, blurred vision, difficulty in micturition, dry mouth, chest tightness; hypotension, muscle weakness, tinnitus, headache; epileptiform seizures; photosensitivity.
Drug Interactions
May enhance sedative effects of CNS depressants. Actions prolonged by MAOIs.
