Mefenamic acid

Indications/Uses

Pain in rheumatic conditions, soft tissue injuries, other painful musculoskeletal conditions, dysmenorrhoea, headache, toothache, post-op pain.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult & childn >14 yr 500 mg then 250 mg 6 hrly, 6 mth 3-6.5 mg/kg 6 hrly. Max: 7 days.

Administration

Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals.

Contraindications

Peptic or intestinal ulceration.

Special Precautions

Pregnancy & lactation.

Adverse Reactions

GI disturbances & bleeding, peptic ulceration.
