AdultRA, OA, ankylosing spondylitis Initially 20 mg as single dose. Maintenance: 20 mg daily. May give 10-30 mg as single dose or in divided doses if needed. Acute gout Initially 40 mg daily as single dose, followed by 40 mg daily single dose or in divided doses for the next 4-6 days.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. History of gastric ulcer or bleeding. Patients who experience bronchospasm, nasal polyp, angioedema or urticaria when using acetosal or other NSAIDs. Treatment of peri-op pain in CABG.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ predisposing factors of blood coagulation disorders; GI disorders, CV disease, HTN, predisposing conditions of fluid retention, kidney & liver disease. May cause liver damage, increase SGPT/SGOT levels or jaundice. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn. Elderly.
