Per 5 mL Dried Al hydroxide gel (equiv w/ Al hydroxide 306 mg), simethicone 80 mg, Mg trisilicate 400 mg

Indications/Uses

Symptoms associated w/ hyperacidity, gastritis, gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcers eg, nausea, stomach-ache, epigastric pain, bloating, full sensation of the stomach.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult 1-2 tsp (5-10 mL) 3-4 times daily. Childn 6-12 yr ½-1 tsp (2.5-5 mL) 3-4 times daily.

Administration

Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 1 hr before or 2 hr after meals & at bedtime.

Contraindications

Severe kidney dysfunction.

Special Precautions

Not recommended for chronic use for >2 wk. Should be taken at 1-2 hr interval w/ other antiulcerants eg, cimetidine or tetracycline antibiotics. Patients w/ low P diet. Prolonged use. Childn <6 yr.

Adverse Reactions

Constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting.
