Misoprostol

Indications/Uses

Prevention of NSAID-induced gastric ulcers in patients at high risk of complications.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult 200 mcg 4 times daily.

Administration

Should be taken with food.

Contraindications

Pregnancy, women of childbearing potential unless taking adequate contraceptive precautions, lactation.

Special Precautions

Disease states where hypotension may precipitate severe complications.

Adverse Reactions

GI upsets including diarrhoea & abdominal pain, gynaecological complaints.
