Vitalipid N Infant is a sterile emulsion intended for addition to Intralipid.
Each Vitalipid N Infant contains: Vitamin A 69 mcg (230 IE), Vitamin D2 1 mcg (40 IE), Vitamin E 0.64 mg (0.7 IE), Vitamin K1 20 mcg.
Each mL of Vitalipid N Adult/Infant also contains the following excipients: Glycerol, purified soya oil, purified egg phospholipids, sodium hydroxide, water for injections.

Pharmacodynamics: Vitalipid Infant/Vitalipid Adult is a mixture of fat-soluble vitamins in amounts equivalent to those normally supplied via the diet. During IV administration, the daily intake will be met by addition of 10 mL Vitalipid Adult.
Vitalipid N Adult: As a supplement in complete IV nutrition to meet the daily requirements of the fat-soluble vitamins A, D2, E and K1.
Vitalipid N Infant: As a supplement in complete IV nutrition to meet the daily requirements of the fat-soluble vitamins A, D2, E and K1 in infants and children up to 11 years.
Adults and Children ≥11 years: 1 amp 10 mL corresponds to the daily intake of fat-soluble vitamins.
Infants and children >2.5 kg and <11 years: 10 mL/day.
Pre-term and Infants <2.5 kg: 4 mL/kg body weight/day.
Hypersensitivity to any of the excipients or active substances of Vitalipid Infant/Vitalipid Adult, egg protein, soya or peanut protein. Vitalipid Adult contains soya-oil. Cross allergic reaction has been observed between soya bean and peanut.
Vitalipid N Adult/Infant contains soya-bean oil and egg phospholipids which may rarely cause allergic reactions. Cross-allergic reaction has been observed between soya-bean and peanut.
Vitalipid N Adult/Infant must not be given undiluted.
Combination with warfarin should be avoided. Reduced anticoagulation effect. Vitamin K1 (phytomenadione) is an antidote in bleeding due to warfarin overdose.
Incompatibilities: Vitalipid Adult/Vitalipid Infant may only be mixed with other products for which compatibility has been documented. (See Intsruction for Handling and Disposal.)
Instructions for Use/Handling: It should be added aseptically no >1 hr before the start of the infusion.
Compatibility: Vitalipid Adult/Vitalipid Infant is to be added to eg, Intralipid 200 mg/mL. Dosage of Intralipid is determined by the patient's ability to eliminate supplied fat. To obtain homogenous solution, the package is to be carefully inverted before infusion begins. Compatibilty data and information about the physical stability of a number of admixtures are available from the manufacturer on request.
