Indications/Uses
Cognitive & neurological disorders associated w/ acute & sub-acute stroke, or w/ traumatic brain injuries.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 500-2,000 mg daily, depending on the severity of symptoms.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients w/ hypertonia of the parasympathetic.
Special Precautions
May cause asthma especially in patients allergic to ASA. Not to be taken by patients w/ rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance. Contains Ponceau 4-R red colour, propyl parahydroxybenzoate & methyl parahydroxybenzoate which may cause allergic reactions. Not to be used during pregnancy unless clearly necessary. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Very rare: Hallucinations; cephalea, vertigo; arterial HTN/hypotension; dyspnea; nausea, vomiting, occasional diarrhea; blush, hives, exanthemas, purpura; shiver, edema.
Drug Interactions
Potentiated effects of medication containing L-Dopa. Not to be administered concomitantly w/ medication containing meclofenoxate.
