Heparinoids

Application on large areas, sensitive areas of skin, broken skin, or mucous membranes.

Children. Pregnancy and lactation.

Immune system disorders: Hypersensitivity reaction.
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: Erythema, local skin irritation.

Avoid smoking or exposure to fire or flames. Fabrics (e.g. clothing, dressings, beddings) that have been in contact with the product are more flammable. Washing clothes and bedding may lessen the risk of flammability but not eliminate it.

Description:
Mechanism of Action: Heparinoid is a term that includes heparin derivatives and is used more lightly to include naturally occurring and synthetic highly-sulfated polysaccharides of similar structure. It is a topical anticoagulant that promotes fibrinolysis via potentiation of urokinase activity resulting in its thrombolytic effect. It has an anti-inflammatory effect through weak inhibition of PGE2 synthesis and indirect influence on LTB4 production. Heparinoid also has an anti-exudative property that is brought by hyaluronidase inhibition.
Pharmacokinetics:
Absorption: Bioavailability: Up to 4.6% (absorbed non-locally) by various tissues.
Excretion: Via urine (as heparinoid and depolymerised shorter chain length compounds).
