Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in adults & ped patients ≥28 days of age & weighing at least 3 kg w/ pneumonia requiring supplemental O₂. Adults & adolescent patients ≥12 yr & weighing at least 40 kg who do not require supplemental O₂ & who are at high risk of progressing to severe COVID-19.

IV infusion Patient w/ pneumonia & requiring supplemental O₂: Adult & adolescent weighing at least 40 kg Single loading dose of 200 mg on day 1 followed by maintenance doses of 100 mg once daily from day 2. Treatment duration: Daily for at least 5 days & not >10 days as soon as possible after COVID-19 diagnosis. Ped patient ≥28 days of age & weighing 3 to <40 kg Single loading dose of 5 mg/kg on day 1 followed by maintenance doses of 2.5 mg/kg once daily from day 2. Treatment duration: Daily for up to a total of 10 days as soon as possible after COVID-19 diagnosis. Patient who do not require supplemental O₂ & at increased risk for progression to severe COVID-19: Adult & adolescent weighing at least 40 kg Single loading dose of 200 mg on day 1 followed by maintenance doses of 100 mg once daily from day 2. Treatment duration: Daily for 3 days, starting as soon as possible after COVID-19 diagnosis & w/in 7 days of symptoms onset.

J05AB16 - remdesivir ; Belongs to the class of nucleosides and nucleotides excluding reverse transcriptase inhibitors. Used in the systemic treatment of viral infections.
