Diphtheria toxoid ≥20 IU, tetanus toxoid ≥40 IU, Pertussis toxoid 25 mcg, filamentous haemagglutinin 25 mcg, inactivated poliomyelitis virus type 1 (Mahoney) 29 D-antigen u, inactivated poliomyelitis virus type 2 (MEF-1) 7 D-antigen u, inactivated poliomyelitis virus type 3 (Saukett) 26 D-antigen units
Indications/Uses
Joint prevention of diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis & poliomyelitis for primary vaccination in infants from 2 mth; for booster vaccination.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IM Primary vaccination Can be given as 3 doses at 1-2 mth intervals starting at the age of 2 or 3 mth. Booster vaccination 1 inj in the 2nd yr of life (ie, usually between 16 & 18 mth).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to active substances & excipients of Tetraxim; glutaraldehyde, neomycin, streptomycin, or polymyxin B; pertussis vaccine (acellular or whole cell). Severe reaction after an inj of the same vaccine or a vaccine containing the same substances. Progressive encephalopathies; encephalopathy w/in 7 days of a previous dose of any vaccine containing pertussis antigens (whole cell or acellular). Postpone vaccination in case of fever or an acute disease.
