Indications/Uses
In combination w/ other antiretroviral agents for the treatment of HIV-1 infection.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult treatment-naive Reyataz 300 mg w/ ritonavir 100 mg or Reyataz 400 mg (w/o ritonavir) once daily. Co-administration w/ tenofovir, H2-receptor antagonist or PPI Reyataz 300 mg w/ ritonavir 100 mg once daily. Co-administration w/ efavirenz Reyataz 400 mg w/ ritonavir 100 mg once daily. Treatment-experienced patient Reyataz 300 mg w/ ritonavir 100 mg once daily. Co-administration w/ H2-receptor antagonist Reyataz 300 mg w/ ritonavir 100 mg once daily. Co-administration w/ both tenofovir & an H2-receptor antagonist Reyataz 400 mg w/ ritonavir 100 mg once daily. Childn 6 to <18 yr treatment-naive & -experienced Dose based on body wt. Max: Adult dose, at least 35 kg Reyataz 300 mg w/ rotonavir 100 mg, 15 to <35 kg Reyataz 200 mg w/ ritonavir 100 mg. Childn at least 13 yr treatment-naive & cannot tolerate ritonavir (at least 40 kg) 400 mg once daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Swallow whole, do not chew/crush/open. When co-administered w/ didanosine buffered or EC formulations, it should be given (w/ food) 2 hr before or 1 hr after didanosine.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity (eg, SJS, erythema multiforme or toxic skin eruptions). Co-administration w/ drugs highly dependent on CYP3A or UGT1A1, alfuzosin, quinidine, carbamazepine, phenobarb, phenytoin, bepridil, rifampin, irinotecan, apalutamide, encorafenib, ivosidenib, triazolam, oral midazolam, dihydroergotamine, ergotamine, ergonovine, methylergonovine, cisapride, St. John's wort, elbasvir/grazoprevir, glecaprevir/pibrentasvir, lovastatin, simvastatin, lomitapide, lurasidone, pimozide, sildenafil, indinavir & nevirapine.
