Adjunctive therapy to antidepressants for major depressive disorder (MDD) in adult patients. Schizophrenia in adults & ped patients ≥13 yr. Agitation associated w/ Alzheimer's dementia (AAD) in those who are unresponsive to non-pharmacological interventions.

Adjunctive treatment of MDD Adult Recommended starting dose: 0.5-1 mg once daily. Dose titration to 1 mg/day & up to the target dose of 2 mg/day should occur at intervals of up to 1 wk based on clinical response & tolerability. Schizophrenia Adult Recommended starting dose: 1 mg once daily on day 1-4. Titrate to 2 mg once daily on day 5-7 then to 4 mg on day 8 based on clinical response & tolerability. Max daily dose: 4 mg. Maintenance dose: 2-4 mg/day. Ped patient 13-17 yr Recommended starting dose: 0.5 mg once daily on day 1-4. Titrate to 1 mg once daily on day 5-7 then to 2 mg on day 8 based on clinical response & tolerability. Max daily dose: 4 mg. AAD Recommended starting dose: 0.5 mg once daily on day 1-7. Titrate dose on day 8-14 to 1 mg & on day 15 to 2 mg. After at least 28 days at 2 mg once daily, can increase dose to max recommended daily dose of 3 mg if clinically warranted. Moderate to severe hepatic; moderate to severe renal impairment & ESRD MDD or AAD 2 mg once daily. Schizophrenia 3 mg once daily.

May be taken with or without food.
