Indications/Uses
RA, juvenile chronic arthritis, discoid & SLE & dermatological conditions caused or aggravated by sunlight.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult (including elderly) Dose should not exceed 6.5 mg/kg daily (based on ideal body wt & not actual body wt) & will be either 200 or 400 mg daily. In patients able to receive 400 mg daily Initially 400 mg daily in divided doses. May be reduced to 200 mg when no further improvement is evident. Maintenance: May be increased to 400 mg daily if response lessens. Childn Dose should not exceed 6.5 mg/kg daily (based on ideal body wt).
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to 4-aminoquinoline compd. Pre-existing eye maculopathy. Childn <6 yr (200 mg tab not adapted for <35 kg) or those w/ ideal body wt <31 kg.
