Human plasma proteins (IgM, IgA, IgG)
Indications/Uses
Adjuvant therapy of severe bacterial infections additional to antibiotic therapy. High-risk patients w/ proven bacterial sepsis & who are unlikely to have underlying IgA deficiency. Ig substitution in immunocompromised patients.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn, infant & neonate Bacterial infection 5 mL/kg daily on 3 consecutive days. Further infusion may be required depending on clinical course. Adult & childn Ig replacement therapy 3-5 mL/kg, repeat wkly if necessary.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients w/ selective IgA deficiency who developed Abs to IgA.
