Indications/Uses
Prevention & treatment of post-op pain & inflammation associated w/ cataract surgery. Reduction in the risk of post-op macular oedema associated w/ cataract surgery in diabetic patients.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & elderly Prevention & treatment of post-op pain & inflammation associated w/ cataract surgery 1 drop in the conjunctival sac of affected eye(s) tds beginning 1 day prior to cataract surgery. Continue on the day of surgery for the 1st 2 wk of post-op period. Administer an additional drop 30-120 min prior to surgery. Diabetic patient Reduction in the risk of post-op macular oedema 1 drop in the conjunctival sac of the affected eye(s) tds beginning 1 day prior to cataract surgery. Continue on the day of surgery up to 60 days of post-op period. Administer an additional drop 30-120 min prior to surgery.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to nepafenac or other NSAIDs. Patients in whom attacks of asthma, urticaria or acute rhinitis are precipitated by ASA or other NSAIDs.
