Adult & paed patients w/ newly diagnosed Philadelphia chromosome +ve chronic myeloid leukaemia (Ph+ CML); w/ Ph+ CML in blast crisis, accelerated phase or in chronic phase after interferon-α therapy failure. Paed patients w/ newly diagnosed Philadelphia chromosome +ve acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (Ph+ ALL) integrated w/ chemotherapy. Monotherapy in adult patients w/ relapsed or refractory Ph+ ALL. Adult patients w/ Kit+ (CD 117) unresectable &/or metastatic malignant GI stromal tumours (GIST). Adjuvant treatment of adult patients following complete gross resection of Kit+ GIST.

Chronic phase CML Adult 400 mg daily, may be increased to 600 mg. Childn 260 mg/m² daily given as once daily to bd. Max: 400 mg. Accelerated phase or blast crisis CML Adult 600 mg daily, may be increased to max of 800 mg. Childn 340 mg/m² daily given as once daily to bd. Max: 600 mg. Ph+ ALL Adult 600 mg daily. Childn 340 mg/m² once daily. Max: 600 mg. Adult Unresectable &/or metastatic, malignant GIST 400 mg daily, may increase to 600-800 mg in the absence of adverse drug reactions if there is insufficient response to therapy. Adjuvant treatment following resection of GIST 400 mg daily. Severe hepatic impairment Initially 300 mg daily. Mild or moderate hepatic impairment Min recommended dose: 400 mg daily. Renal impairment Min recommended dose: 400 mg daily as starting dose.

Should be taken with food: May be dispersed in a glass of still water or apple juice (approx 50 mL for 100 mg tab & 200 mL for 400 mg tab). Take immediately.
