Indications/Uses
Symptomatic treatment of spasticity of cerebral origin in adult & paed 6 to <18 yr especially where due to infantile cerebral palsy as well as following CVA or in presence of neoplastic or degenerative brain disease. Symptomatic treatment of muscle spasms occurring in spinal cord diseases of infectious, degenerative, traumatic, neoplastic or unknown origin (eg, multiple sclerosis, spastic spinal paralysis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, syringomyelia, transverse myelitis, traumatic paraplegia or paraparesis & spinal cord compression) in adult & paed 6 to <18 yr.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Initially 15 mg daily in 3 divided doses. Optimum dosage range: 30-75 mg daily. Childn 6 to <18 yr Initially 0.3 mg/kg daily in 4 divided doses. Usual dosage range for maintenance: 0.75-2 mg/kg daily, >8 yr Up to 60 mg daily. Max daily dose: 2 mg/kg or 60 mg, 6-8 yr 30-40 mg daily. Max daily dose: 2 mg/kg or 40 mg. Patient undergoing chronic hemodialysis 5 mg daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
