Lignocaine HCl

Indications/Uses

Local anaesth & lubrication during catheterisation, exploration by sound & other endourethral operations & exam. Cystoscopy & symptomatic treatment of painful cystitis & urethritis.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult male Instill 20 mL slowly into the urethra until it reaches the external sphincter, proximal to the prostate, female Instill 5-10 mL in small portions to fill the whole urethra. Allow 3-5 min prior to performing urological procedures to obtain adequate anaesth. Childn <12 yr Up to 4 mg/kg.

Contraindications

Known hypersensitivity to amide type local anaesth.
