Letrozole

Indications/Uses

1st-line treatment in postmenopausal women w/ advanced hormone-dependent breast cancer. Advance breast cancer in women w/ natural or artificially induced postmenopausal status, who have previously been treated w/ antioestrogens. Adjuvant treatment of postmenopausal women w/ hormone receptor +ve invasive early breast cancer. Extended adjuvant treatment of early breast cancer in postmenopausal women who have received prior standard adjuvant tamoxifen therapy.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult & elderly 2.5 mg once daily. Patient w/ cirrhosis & severe hepatic dysfunction (Child-Pugh score C) 2.5 mg every other day.

Administration

May be taken with or without food.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity. Pre-menopausal endocrine status. Pregnancy & lactation.
