Pregabalin
Indications/Uses
Neuropathic pain which includes diabetic peripheral neuropathy & postherpetic neuralgia in adults. Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) in adults. Management of fibromyalgia. Adjunctive therapy of partial seizures w/ or w/o secondary generalization in adults.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 150-600 mg daily in 2-3 divided doses. Neuropathic pain Starting dose: 150 mg daily. May be increased to 300 mg daily after an interval of 3-7 days & to max of 600 mg daily if needed after an additional 7-day interval. Epilepsy & GAD Starting dose: 150 mg daily. May be increased to 300 mg daily after 1 wk. Max dose of 600 mg daily may be achieved after an additional wk. Fibromyalgia Starting dose: 75 mg bd. May be increased to 150 mg bd w/in 1 wk based on efficacy & tolerability. May be increased further to 225 mg bd in patients who do not experience sufficient benefit w/ 300 mg daily. Max daily dose: 450 mg. Renal impairment CrCl ≥60 mL/min Starting dose: 150 mg/day. Max daily dose: 600 mg, ≥30-<60 mL/min Starting dose: 75 mg/day. Max daily dose: 300 mg, ≥15-<30 mL/min Starting dose: 25-50 mg/day. Max daily dose: 150 mg, <15 mL/min Starting dose: 25 mg/day. Max daily dose: 75 mg. Supplementary dosage following hemodialysis Starting dose: 25 mg/day as single dose. Max daily dose: 100 mg.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
