Why do I need this medicine?
Isotretinoin is used to treat mild to moderate acne (also known as pimple).
How do I use this medicine?
Apply Isotretinoin exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.

To use the cream, follow these steps:
  1. Wash your hands.
  2. Wash the affected area with mild soap and warm water, dry gently before applying the medicine.
  3. Apply a thin layer of cream on the affected area and smooth it in.
  4. Wash your hands after each application.
  5. Replace the cap of the tube.
Product availability of this medicine may vary by country. Always follow the instructions of your doctor.

Avoid contact with the face, eyes, mouth, nose, or open wounds. Rinse immediately with water if it gets into your eyes or mouth. Alert your doctor if you start to have any problems with your eyes.

Isotretinoin must be applied regularly for it to be effective. Continue using this medicine even when you feel better. Do not stop using it unless instructed by the doctor.
What should I do if I have forgotten to use this medicine?
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.

DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.

If you often forget to apply your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
When should I not use this medicine?
Do not use Isotretinoin if you are pregnant or planning to have a baby soon. If you become pregnant while being treated with this medicine, alert your doctor immediately. Isotretinoin may cause harm to your unborn child. You must use proven birth control methods while using this medicine.

Do not breastfeed while you are being treated with this medicine.
What should I take note of while using this medicine?
Inform your doctor if you have the following conditions:
  • history of sensitivity to sunlight or UV light
  • personal or family history of skin cancer
  • rosacea (skin flushing or blushing usually around your nose and cheeks)
  • perioral dermatitis (spotty red rashes of the skin around your mouth)
  • history of intolerance to similar anti-acne products
Be careful when applying Isotretinoin to sensitive areas, such as the neck.

If you have a sunburn, your doctor may advise you to delay the application of this medicine until your sunburn is resolved.

Avoid application of Isotretinoin to eczematous skin (patches of red and itchy skin).

Do not share or give this medicine to anyone else.
What side effects could I experience?
Isotretinoin may cause any of the following side effects: dryness, redness, itching, peeling, burning sensation, or irritation of the skin.

This medicine may also make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Apply sunscreen with at least SPF 15 or wear protective clothing when going outdoors and avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and UV lamps.

Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Can I use this with other medicines?
Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking or using any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements, and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
How should I store this medicine?
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.

Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
