Ibuprofen B Braun

Childn ≥5 kg, adolescents & adults for short-term symptomatic treatment of fever & acute moderate pain, when IV administration is clinically justified & other routes of administration are not possible.

IV Adult 400 mg via infusion over 30 min every 6-8 hr as necessary. Max daily dose: 2,400 mg. Paed 20-30 mg/kg divided into 3-4 single doses (5-10 mg/kg). Infuse over 30 min. Interval between doses should not be <6 hr. Adolescent weighing ≥40 kg Single dose up to 400 mg. Max daily dose: 1,200 mg. Childn weighing 5-39 kg Up to 10 mg/kg. Max daily dose: 30 mg/kg.

Hypersensitivity to ibuprofen or other NSAIDs. History of bronchospasm, asthma, rhinitis, angioedema or urticaria associated w/ taking ASA or other NSAIDs. Conditions involving increased tendency or active bleeding eg, severe coagulation disorders (eg, thrombocytopenia). Active or history of recurrent peptic ulcer/haemorrhage (≥2 episodes of proven ulceration or bleeding. History of GI bleeding or perforation related to previous NSAIDs therapy. Cerebrovascular or other active bleeding. Severe heart failure (NYHA class IV). Severe dehydration (caused by vomiting, diarrhoea or insufficient fluid intake). Severe hepatic or renal insufficiency. Last trimester of pregnancy.
