Heparin Na, NaCl
Indications/Uses
Flushing of in-dwelling cannulae & maintaining the patency of IV inj devices.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Usual recommended dose: 10-50 IU every 4 hr.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients w/ haemorrhagic diseases; thrombocytopenia & patients who are haemorrhaging or are at risk of haemorrhage including those w/ haemophilia, subacute bacterial endocarditis, gastric or duodenal ulcer or severe HTN. Patients who have recently undergone surgery at sites where haemorrhage would be a special risk.
