Macrogol 4000
Indications/Uses
4 g: Constipation in childn 6 mth to 8 yr. 10 g: Symptomatic treatment of constipation in adults & childn ≥8yr.
Dosage/Direction for Use
4 g Childn 4-8 yr 2-4 sachets/day, 1-4 yr 1-2 sachets/day, 6 mth to 1 yr 1 sachet/day. Duration of treatment: 2 wk. 10 g Adult & childn >8 yr 1-2 sachets/day.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Preferably taken in the morning. Dissolve each sachet in a glass of water. Increase intake of water/fruit juices/fruits/green vegetables/wholemeal bread.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Severe intestinal disease eg, inflammatory bowel disease (eg, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, abnormal bowel dilation); bowel perforation or risk of occurrence; ileus or suspicion of intestinal obstruction; painful abdominal syndromes of uncertain cause. 10 g: Patients suffering from fructose intolerance.
