Ezoleta

Monotherapy or in combination w/ a statin for adjunctive therapy to diet for the reduction of elevated total cholesterol (total-C), LDL-C & Apo B in patients w/ primary (heterozygous familial & nonfamilial) hypercholesterolemia. In combination w/ fenofibrate for adjunctive therapy to diet for the reduction of elevated total-C, LDL-C, Apo B & non-HDL-C in patients w/ mixed hyperlipidemia. In combination w/ atorvastatin or simvastatin for the reduction of elevated total-C & LDL-C levels in patients w/ homozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia, as an adjunct to other lipid-lowering treatments (eg, LDL apheresis) or if such treatments are unavailable. Adjunctive therapy to diet for the reduction of elevated sitosterol & campesterol levels in patients w/ homozygous familial sitosterolemia.

Recommended dose: 10 mg daily. Combination therapy w/ a statin Usual initial dose of that particular statin or the already established higher statin dose should be continued. Patient w/ CKD (eGFR <60 mL/min/1.73 m²) Combination therapy w/ simvastatin Ezetimibe 10 mg & simvastatin 20 mg once daily in the evening.

May be taken with or without food.

Hypersensitivity. Combination therapy with statin & fenofibrate: Pregnancy & lactation. Combination therapy w/ statin: Active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevations in serum transaminases.
