Evipsyzed

Schizophrenia. Acute manic episodes associated w/ bipolar I disorder. Depressive episodes associated w/ bipolar disorder. Monotherapy or in combination w/ lithium or valproate in preventing recurrence in maintenance treatment of bipolar I disorder (manic, mixed or depressive episode).

Adult Schizophrenia Administer twice daily. Total daily dose: 50 mg on day 1, 100 mg on day 2, 200 mg on day 3 & 300 mg on day 4. Titrate dose to 300-450 mg daily from day 4 onwards, may be adjusted w/in range of 150-750 mg daily depending on clinical response & tolerability. Manic episodes associated w/ bipolar disorder Administer twice daily. Monotherapy or as adjunct therapy to mood stabilizers: Total daily dose: 100 mg on day 1, 200 mg on day 2, 300 mg on day 3 & 400 mg on day 4. Further adjustments up to 800 mg daily by day 6 should be in increments of ≤200 mg daily. Depressive episodes associated w/ bipolar disorder Administer once daily at bedtime. Titrate: 50 mg on day 1, 100 mg on day 2, 200 mg on day 3 & 300 mg on day 4. Titrate to 400 mg on day 5 & up to 600 mg by day 8. Preventing recurrence in maintenance treatment w/ bipolar disorder May be re-adjusted to 400-800 mg daily depending on clinical response & tolerability. Elderly, renal & hepatic impairment Initially 25 mg daily, increase daily in increments of 25-50 mg.

May be taken with or without food.
