Rilpivirine HCl

Indications/Uses

In combination w/ other antiretroviral medicinal products for HIV-1 infection in antiretroviral treatment-naïve adult patients & ped patients 12-17 yr w/ viral load ≤100,000 HIV-1 RNA copies/mL at start of therapy.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult & ped patient ≥12 to 17 yr weighing at least 32 kg 25 mg once daily. Patient concomitantly receiving rifabutin Increase dose to 50 mg once daily then decrease to 25 mg once daily when co-administration is stopped.

Administration

Should be taken with food: Take w/ meals for optimal absorption.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity. Co-administration w/ drugs which induce CYP3A enzymes or increase gastric pH.
