Dutasteride

Indications/Uses

Treatment & control of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men w/ an enlarged prostate to improve symptoms, reduce prostate size, risk of acute urinary retention & need for BPH-related surgery. In combination w/ tamsulosin for symptomatic treatment of BPH in men w/ enlarged prostate.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult (including elderly) Monotherapy or in combination w/ tamsulosin (0.4 mg) 0.5 mg once daily.

Administration

May be taken with or without food: Swallow whole, do not chew/open cap.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to dutasteride or other 5-α reductase inhibitors. Severe hepatic impairment. Women. Childn & adolescents.
